How should I handle this situations with my daughter and a neighbor? |
My daughter always played with a little girl down the street but suddenly she has been ostrisized. she came home upset because the little girl said "my mom said that i need to make new friends" my husband called her and it's because we have too many animals, yet they went right out and got a couple themselves! now that my daughter rides her bike, the woman rolls up her eyes, or she puts on the sprinkler so my daughter cant even ride past the house. i have been nothing but nice with her, yet she seems to haev an attitude with my daughter and hasn't even spoken to me even giving me the cold shoulder. her daughter is a little immature for her age and one time when she went back crying (i was right there nothing hapened except she fell off her bike) she siad to my daughter and friend "you dumb stupid girls!" what to do? now another neighbor is now ostrisizing my daughter from her little girl. my daughter and the other girls still talk but hte moms wont let her play!how do i handle this? This neighbor of yours is truly immature and needs to grow up. I don't know, but I think this is bigger than you having alot of pets. It's awful that she's trying to turn the kids against your daughter. Talk to the other children's parents and let them know what the problem is and they won't keep their children from playing with your daugher. Hope you guys work things out. my first thought would be to move! i would not try to put up with all of that. Coming from a mother ...in this situation it seems that the neighbors are jealous..true enough you cannot alienate your daughter from people in the neighborhood..but you can try talking to them...if they don't want to hear what your saying then forget them...the street is a place where children can ride there bikes, roller skate , jump rope and do any other activities they choose.. if the harassment continues talk to someone you feel you can trust and explain to a cop..what's going on they may be able to go to a neighbors house and have a chat with them. if it's all the moms doing this to your child and not the actual kids turning her away then you need to sit down and talk with them. Make them realize that they are the adults and need to lead by example. if they have a problem with you it should stay with you and not involve the kids. if your daughter is behaving in a way they don't like then they should come to you to reach some sort of understanding. It all comes down to the adults need to act like adults and stop using the kids as their little pawns I am sorry your daughter is going through this, I think I would talk to the mother again and try and handle it rationally and let her know that your daughter is really upset and then if nothing happened I think I would find other friends for my daughter, maybe get her involved in a class at the community center to meet new friends. |
