Please help me with my excercise plan! 10 easy points for best answer!?



I am trying to be strong, not lose weight (looks down at scrawny arms and legs, definetly NOT loose weight.) If I do street dancing class for 1 hour on tuesday. Toning class one hour on friday. Swim and ride my bike on saturday. And excercise my arms and legs 3 times a week. Is this good? Is it enough so that I can be strong? Any comments?

That is a lot of exercise for toning and you should see results soon! I am pretty toned and i did it a couple ways: weight machines at the gym every night and a workout series called the Firm. It just uses hand weights and a tall box (a kitchen stool works) which doesn't sound like much but you would be amazed at the results. I HIGHLY recommend them! Some exercises that make you look toned fast include:
-Lat pulldowns
-Butterflies
-Bicep curls

These are great because they work a lot of different muscles at once. If you don't need to lose weight you should notice a difference soon. It doesn't hurt to add a little weight every now and then too, to increase your strength.

Changing your routine from day to day will better aid your strengthening process. Your muscles need a day off to recover from getting torn down...which is what happens when you exercise. So, when you say you exercise your arms and legs 3 times a week, hopefully it's not three days in a row....it should be Mon, Wed, Fri or Tues, Thurs, Sat. etc.

If you're doing this much, you're probably already stronger than you realize. Keep up the good work and you should see results in the mirror soon!
when i was in the army they had us eat 3 full meals each day to help add muscle weight, if you cant eat that much then try to add a protein shake with your meals on top of all of your work outs. it will help you to keep the healthy weight you need and help define with your muscle definition. just stay committed and you'll look great with in a couple of weeks!!!!
You sound as is you are pretty active, and would guess you belong to a gym.
For fast results you should try and work back, chest, arms and shoulders. This will give you definition and strength over a reltively short time.

Try completing 3 x sets of 15 of any2 of 3 from the following:

Lat Pull downs, seated rows, bent over single arm row

Bench press, incline press, fly's, overhead pull over

Shoulder press (both arms), shoulder press single arm, shoulder raise (front and side)

Tricep bar, cable pull downs (tricep extensions) single arm tricep extensions (free weight)

Bicep curls, concentrated bicep curl, single arm curl.

Remember to start off with a manageable weight to ensure you complete the full sets. You can increase weights on a daily, weekly basis, but once increased, dont return to the previous weights. After 4 weeks, increase sets to 3 x sets 20.
This will build definition rapidly, and increase your strength.

Make sure you eat a lot of protein, this is important because if you don't have enough protein in your diet you will lose muscle and not fat.(Muscle will be burned but not as much).And finally have fun with it! Make up a dance or jump rope to music, getting active doesn鈥檛 mean boot camp!

* Eat plenty of vegetables with each meal.

* Drink plenty of water

* Before buying any food, look for carbs, calories and sugar in the ingredients. You'll want to cut down on all three.
