I would only recommend going vegetarian if you are able to and willing to taking supplements for minerals and vitamins that you will miss out on which are found in meat, like iron, as well as any other nutrients you need to take to compensate for lack of protein/meat etc.
Regarding excerise with your stationary bike - you will lose weight, but you will also build up muscle tone, which can become visible if you work hard at it, and why some people mistake this for fat. So you may not notice a very big difference.
I wish you good luck! Source(s): Dr Karl Kruzelnicki's book, It Ain't Necessarily So... Bro'.
Sure, you will. But why go vegetarian, you can be on a good diet and excercise well and you will loose weight.
just stay away from carbs, watch your portion sizes.. and rather spend two hours really pushing your limits than 4 hours strolling along.
oh yes u will, and u will be healthy too becoz all u did was remove meat and not cut down on a lot of things. u will lose soooo much weight u will not believe it. Just increase ur vegetables a lot becoz they work as fibre keep u regular so that u can lose weight. Good luck with that. please do not buy these weight loss things u will do fine with what u have set out to do
well 2 parts to this...
1. being a vegetarian doesnt mean u'll lose weight. you can be a vegetarian and still eat potato chips, chocolates, carbs and all the other goodies like candies. the key is to eat HEALTHY and not to overeat. becoming a vegetarian is hard to do and often new vegetarians wont eat all of the correct foods in order to get all the nutrients they need (ie: protein). eating healthy means not eating late at night or not eating more than your body needs (around 2000Cal for an average person)
2. riding the bike for 4 hours a day sounds really intense and although it depends at what speed you're going at...yes you will most likely lose lots of weight if you also have a HEALTHY diet. 4 hours may be a little excessive and i'm not sure how you'll be abl to actually keep up with that on a regular basis. if you do, then you'll need to accomodate for a higher amount of carbohydrates and proteins because of the greater demand. its not healthy to lose more than 1-2 lbs per week so keep that in mind as a goal!
Going vegetarian is not required for weightloss. If you are going vegetarian for other reasons then you need to make sure you are getting iron and protein, etc from alternative foods/supplements. Protein is found in all animal products and will help you build muscle mass. Increased muscle mass will help you to burn fat.
4 hours perday is alot of time to spend on your bike, make sure you have a comfy seat! I do not think 4hrs per day is neccessary, but I do not see any harm. Are you going to do it all at once or break it up into shorter sessions? Try varying the intensity of your work out from day to day. A longer, less strenuous ride one day, then a shorter harder faster ride the next.
