Can I get the same benefit out of 30-40 min on stationary bike as I can with 2 miles of moderate walking?

Probably. You didn't specify what benefit you're asking about, but I assume it's weight loss. In that case the answer is: depends. It depends at what intensity you are riding the bike and what intensity you are walking.

Depends on how hard/fast you push it on the bike, but yes, its probably similar.
The calorie expenditure will be approximately a third more for the bike depending on speed of each, but the stationary bike will be a cardio workout only. Walking is a low-impact weight bearing exercise and in addition to the cardiac benefits, it will also help prevent osteoporosis.

The key to effective exercise is time and intensity. 30-40 mins on the bike at piss-poor effort will not equal to 2 miles of moderate walk. 2 miles moderate walk is not better than 30-40 mins high intensity bike ride. So you need to look at the intensity of the exercise + the time spent execising. A good guide is exercise to when you have trouble having a conversation for minimum of 30 mins five days a week.
Proabably ur statement is w/o trying either. Biking for 30-40 min is positively more beneficial.

U eat only when hungry and that too not more than three times a day with only and only water in between. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. In the process u enjoy it more and make ur body motor system tell u that u have had enough.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve the ideal weight effortlessly in a reasonable time.
