Is stationary biking good for losing weight? |
i would like to lose some weight, but they only thing available in my house is a stationary bike and an 8-pound weight. Any type of exercise is better than no exercise. So, yes stationary biking is good for losing weight. You can add in some basic body weight exercises(push-ups; crunches; unweighted squats; lunges; etc) and modify your eating habits and you will lose more weight. Also, surprisingly if you increase your water intake and daily fiber intake, you'll also lose some weight. Yes, its a good aerobic exercise stationary biking is great, but turn up the resistance!! well heres an idea, use the bike, weights, do sit ups, and go runing the morning It's good as long as you do it regularly and change you diet. You need to cut back the calories and make sure that when you ride the bike, you do it at a relatively fast pace. Hi Curious! If you are below 18, I wouldn't do any hard core dieting, since you risk messing your body up. Burning more calories than you consume causes you to lose weight, not riding a bike. That said, the bike will help you burn more calories to try and get yourself to this situation. If I were you, and I were overweight, I would start with walking, shopping, dancing, golf, frisbee, playing with kids, or whatever you enjoy that causes you to move, and do more of it, as opposed to getting on an exercise bike and hating ever minute of it. This won't last, trust me. I believe this answers your question. If you want more help or have more questions, you may email me at: trainer_gregg@yahoo.com Good luck on your diet and fitness goals.
