Can I change my bike to an exercise bike.? |
Is there a piece of equipment I can buy to make my bike into a stationary bike. Two ways... 1. rollers.. as the other guy said. these can be hard to get used to as you have to stay within a ~2foot width... If you go this route, start in a doorway. 2. Rear wheel trainers. there are two types. one that the rear tire spins on (need a slick), and one that grabs the rear rim. They both hold the bike by the rear axel, with the front tire on the ground. Yes. There are roller systems you can buy that attach to the bike and go under the rear wheel, so when you pedal instead of going somewhere you just turn the roller. They can be heavy and kind of noisy but they do what they are supposed to: allow you to ride your regular bike while remaining stationary. take the chain off and make it stable or summit or even raise the back wheel some how and make it stable that way just rip the wheels of and stick it on sum scaffolding! Simple! lmao! There is a stand you can buy. You hitch your bike up to it and as your pedals only control the back wheel, you can "ride" without going anywhere. Not sure where you would get one from though. Maybe a specialist cycle shop? yes The piece of equipment you are looking for is called a trainer. However, trainers can be pricey. Might be a better deal to look for a stationary cycle that someone bought, thought they'd use and are now selling for cheap. Good luck! |
