Does anyone know where you can buy the things that hold your bike in place? |
I was looking for a stationary bike, but then someone reccomended that I should buy the things to hold my bike in place. I just need a good place to find them You are likely looking for a training stand with your statement that you were "looking for a stationary bike". You can purchase these at local bike shops or outdoor equipment co-ops (REI, MEC). I would not recommend mail-ordering one of these over the internet - they are quite heavy and the shipping charge will be high. As well, I have killed two low-end Blackburn stands (both warranty replaced) and now am using a mid-level Elite. Following link has some samples from an online store. Source(s): http://www.cbike.com/bike_trainers_rolle... i dont mean to sound sarcastic but have you tried a bike local store? if not there ask them if they recommend anywhere no bike store? if not id try dicks or sports authority @ WAL-MARTS THEY HAVE BIKE STANDS AND YOU COULD BUY 2 THEN SIT YOUR BIKE UP! (MAY NOT BE AT SOME WALMARTS IF NOT TRY SAMS) There are several different types of trainers. Some work on fluid resistance, some use magnetic and some use wind resistance. I have one that uses centrifugal force. I've had it for a few years and it works great. Check it out at www.1upUSA.com. The other types can be found at www.performancebikes.com or ww.nashbar.com. Some of the better bike shops in your area might also stock some. I think all types of trainers require that you have a quick-release skewer on your rear wheel. |
