Weight loss and muscle gain? |
I have been on a diet since the end of June, eating around 1200-1300 calories per day. I've read that eating that many calories for my body type, I should lose about 2 pounds per week, and I did for about 5 weeks, when I threw in 30 minutes of riding a stationary bike, gradually increasing the resistance level, and since then, even on the diet (which I did add about 200 calories to my diet because of working out (the bike says I lose approx 200 per session), I've lost 0 pounds, and it's been a few weeks now. Could this be because of gaining muscle (lots of muscle lost in the past 6 months due to a broken leg, and months of no walking)? I want to continue losing weight, but today I am SO very discouraged to have lost nothing for this long after doing so well in the first 5 weeks. What do you think??? I also broke my leg (tib & fib) in february..and got my last cast off in May. I've been working out like crazy and also dieting and I am going through the exact same thing you are. My clothes aren't looser or anything. I really feel like I'm gaining more muscle than anything and not losing any weight. Sorry this isn't an answer but I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. It's very frusterating, so hopefully someone knows what's going on! for your low bodyweight you'll have to workout and diet differently than the overweight people. go here for some tips on how to lose your last 10 pounds http://www.nowloss.com/weight-loss-plan-... |
