Cardio mixed in the workout?



I lift 4-5 days a week, but have noticed its time to throw cardio in the workout as well, I dont like running but riding the stationary bike is alright. What is a good amount of time to ride the bike and before or after workout also how many times a week should I do Cardio. I am trying to get rid of my gut and have my abs show thru.

To burn fat, you should run or bike (or other cardio exercise) at aerobic target range for at least 20 minutes continuously.

Target heartrate = 220- age x 65% ( to start with)
It should be somewhere around 140 depending on your age. Run over that heartrate, you will crash and burn only sugars. Run under that heartrate and you will not burn maximum fat and calories and will not see the cardio benefit.

I'd start with cardio workouts 2-3 days per week. Thats what I do. That way you can still lift on alternating days

See your doctor for an OK before starting. Tell him what you plan to do.
