I have a month and a 1/2 before my 8th grade prom, i need to loose weight. Without help of pills or starvation



Well lets start off with the fact that i am raised in a family where eating when your bored is ok, and that's not good. I am a lot bigger than many of my friends and it's starting to piss me off. Strangely i am rather athletic, i bike for 4-5 hours a day for 3 months a year. i love swimming, and im good at it, and i always join in with my friends to play any sports i can. Im 5ft 6in. and im 14 years old. I weigh 155 and i'm not proud of it. Since prom is coming up, i really want to loose weight, but i just don't know how. I have a new stationary bike at home, and i just put it together today and have been using it, but i dont think that it will be enough. Obviously diet pills, anorexia, or bulimia are not options for me. i want to loose weight the natural way, but i don't have much time on my hands. Any good suggestions....i need them. Real answers please. =)

You sound very sensible, which is a great start!
Avoid snacking, don't do junk foods or sugary or fatty foods. Instead eat lots of fruit and veg. Raw veggies make a tasty snack and can be prepared and taken to school with you. Try to cut down on meat as it can contain a lot of hidden fats, try eating fish and white meats. Go for long lasting carbs such as long grain rice, wholemeal pasta and boiled new potatoes (with skin). Bread should be granary or wholemeal.
Walking and swimming are really excellent exercise and you should aim for at least 45 mins daily.
Stick at it and you will probably lose 8 - 10 lbs in the first month, after that it should average at around 2lbs week.
I have used the above to lose 85lbs since July 06.
