Would this be unhealthy?

I'm twelve years old and i'm trying to loose weight by going on my stationary bike until I burn 1000 calories each day, would this slow down my metabolism or make me sick? Thanks.

first u need to find out if u are overweight. if u are at a healthy weight than u need to try and develop a better body/self image. ( 5'=100lbs; for every inch ur height add 5lbs for girls and 10lbs for guys). Growing up is hard (esp. with the media, school, friends, family and so much more around the world). Being healthy is much more important than being supermodel thin. If u are overweight than go to the doctor and he/she will help u build a program u can follow to lose weight in a safe/healthy method. losing weight involves eating a well-balance diet and exercising. Working out on ur bike will make u sick and ur body can crash if because at the age of 12 ur body is still growing(it wont be able to adjust to ur extreme workout). I understand that sometimes u feel like ur not pretty enough or thin enough. I dont want u to develop any eating disorders, b/c thats what happened to me when i was 12. I suffered from 2 eating disorders and major depression during my teen years. Its a horrible life to live and even harder to get help and get better. But u are a beautiful, smart, wonderful and unique girl. But if u really want to lose a few pounds or need a healthy diet suggestion( b/c ur overweight) than i will give u one.....
-walk for atleast 30lbs everyday(mornings are best b/c there is less pollination in the air)
-eat 5 small meals instead of 3 big meals each day (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner)
-snack on veggies & fruits
- drink 6-8 glasses of 8oz water everyday(stop drinking soda, power drinks or any thing thats packed with sugar)
-DONOT eat pass 7pm(ur body's metabolism slows down at night)
-And the main secert is drink one 8oz glass of green tea( get the real green tea from asian herbal stores not the american made ones)...green tea helps the body get rid of toxins

Keep a positive attitude and stay healthy....good luck and if u need anything just email me....byebye beautiful :)
i think it would be okay. but make sure that you are eating 2000 calories each day. make sure you're not skimping on foods.
ur endurance wld gradually reduce if u partice it for lonf....else no harm doin it
Well, it's good that you are exercising. Burning 1000 calories a day is fine, but you have to make sure that when you count the calories that you eat and then subtract what you exercise, you end up with no less than 1500 calories. You are 12, so your body still needs its nutrients.

Even if you are averaging 1500 calories a day - that's enough for your body to function without gaining weight.
Well I use a stationary bike for about 20 mins and I burn about 200 calories 4 point some odd miles. I weigh about 250lbs and I'm 6'2". I have remaind at 250lbs for about a year and I used 2 weigh 325lbs. Thats all you really need about 20 mins. Just make some healthy choices. You don't have 2 be a heatlh f庐eaK like the rest of the country. Don't grow up thinking you have 2 be a stick. Oh and don't just sit in front of the tv and eat zebra cakes and swiss rolls. :)
You realize that would mean 1.5-2 hours a day on the bike?? Besides, you are only 12 and still growing 鈥?unless you are obese or VERY overweight, it is not necessary for you to exercise like this.

But if you want to do it, make sure you build up your endurance first 鈥?start out with 20-30 minutes a day, then add 10 minutes once a week until you reach the length of time you want. Also make sure you are eating enough! No less than 2500 calories a day.

However it would be even easier to eat 2000 calories a day and burn 500 calories.
