Why can't I lose weight?!? |
I weigh 155. I am 5'7". I have diligently counted my calories (and don't say it's not possible, I swear on my life I've counted EVERYTHING) for the past 3 weeks. I am eating 1300 to 1550 calories a day. I am also an active person who does 45 minutes of cardio (walking on treadmill at 4.4, stationary bike rowing) 3-4 times a week. According to my basic metabolic rate, I burn 2000ish calories a day. PLUS I live in a city and walk everywhere. That means I am DEFINITELY burning more calories per week than I am eating. Yet, I have not lost ANY WEIGHT. I got my thyroid tested and I am fine. What could be happening to me? If you are indeed burning more calories than you are ingesting daily then you could be retaining fluid (which you should be able to see somewhere probably), gaining muscle and since muscle weighs more than fat you will not lose weight but actually gain but it will be healthy weight. Those are 2 reasons off the top of my head. Most woman can not lose weight because of hormones , there are pills you can take for woman cause of there hormones... -hope this helped- Maybe you should change your exercise routine. |
