Not seeing results anymore...!? |
So I've posted a couple questions so you might know my history, but basically I've been doing at least half an hour of cardio at LEAST five days a week, every week, for a year. I do lunges, stretches, ballet workouts, runs on the stationary bike, situps, crunches, pushups.. so far, in a year, I've lost 32 pounds and now weigh 118. I lost a lot of weight off my thighs and stomach and I feel lighter, but I still FEEL fat. I've got excess weight on my stomach that I can't seem to get rid of. Oh, and I never eat more than 1000 calories a day and eat healthy food [trust me]. I want to lose more! Am I expecting too much? Is, You just made me smile! You lost weight the right way! You are not expecting too much. You hit a plateau. That's when your normal workouts are not enough to lose the weight. You can still do exactly what you are doing, but bump up your intensity. Add a pound or two to your weights, add an incline to you bike, treadmill or elliptical, etc. You should do this every 12 weeks or so. Perhaps you are. But if you seriously think you need to lose more, that's up to you, it's your body. Dedication is the only thing I can tell you. The last few pounds are the hardest to shed. Stick with what your doing, but change something up. Like perhaps eat more fiber, or drink more water, or do cardio for longer periods of time. I hope this helps you and I'm already proud of how far you've come. Good luck ! Feel free to hit me up with any other questions ! :) YES!!! You should be consuming at least 1500 calories! There's a plateau your body reaches, beyond which it goes in to Famine mode and tries to reserve some fat, and starts burning muscle. From your description of your activities, that's what is happening. Also, if you've had children, there are some muscles that lose their "muscle memory" and take very specific exercises (and guidance from a trainer) to get back. I myself have just had my second child, and am working to regain muscle tone and lose that "fat". I talked with my Doctor who actually referred me to a physical therapist to strengthen my stomach muscles- and there was a lot of work to be done!! I saw him weekly for 10 weeks to develop the muscles before I could actually work on my own. I would recommend talking to your Doctor and see what they say about your exercise routine, and how to get you to where you want to be. You aren't consuming enough calories. You have caused your metabolism to slow down to a crawl. I don't know your age and height, but if I had to give it a ballpark number you should be consuming close to 2000 calories a day. If you want to lose more weight you will actually have to start eating a little bit more to get your metabolism a jump start so that you can burn off a little bit more fat. If you want you can email me at dogrocket101@yahoo.com in addition to the above answers, which are all true, i would recommend that you change or restart with a new working schedule of higher intensity. A year of doing the same exercises can get your body used to it and hence no change can come through. |
