I had arthroscopic surgery on my right leg last Thursday Feb 1, 2007..? |
I have been doing the PT and riding a stationary bike for 10 minutes daily also. I have been resting alot!! Keeping my knee elevated above by heart and using ice 20 minutes about every hour whenever possible. I noticed a very large lump on the back of my knee. It is about the size of a golfball and extremely tender. It feels like an acculation of blood but I don't know for sure. My doc siad it is just the hamstring and not to be concerned. I just wondered if anyone else has had the same thing and if so, what did you do for it?? Thanks for any help.. the baker's cyst is right...i have one in there now also! the cause of them are from the knee problem to begin with. they can move around in the joint, and mine is more tender when i can feel it at the back of my knee, and is just like what you described...feels like the size of a golfball and it's very tender, causes me to have muscle spasms sometimes too!!! my doctor said it can come back anyways even when removing it!!! removing them requires taking it from the back of the knee and they have to go all the way to the front of the knee to make sure they remove as much as possible, pretty painful with a big chance of it returning...i opted not to have it removed! take care, and talk to your doctor again!!! whenever you're concerned about something...talk to your doctor. you could discuss it with your PT also, and he/she could give your their thoughts! Look up "Baker's Cyst". It is full of synovial(?) fluid that lubricates the joint, many times there is meniscus damage. Do not fly on a plane because it could burst (go into disection, allowing fluid to accumulate under your calf muscle). And be careful going both up AND down stairs, mine happened when I hurt it at work, and I've been in the Worker's Comp nighmare for 2 years now, still hurting and afraid to get blood clots in my leg! Please do research until you understand enough - you can learn a lot, even the medical book "Grey's Anatomy" a pictoral view, is available. Worker's Compensation victim. Call Doctor immediately, could be blood clot |
