Over weight!! should I just do cardio? |
I wheigh 341lbs. should I just stick to cardio, and if so, what? I cant to arobics because I have a bad knee. I like the stationary bike. I guess my real question is this. If any one out there is willing to train me online I will be more than willing to follow the routine that is set up for me. Please help. Speaking as an overweight person, I think you should just do cardio for a while. I do the elliptical machine, which is very low impact, so that's good news for that bad knee. Just start at 15 minutes on the elliptical and work your way up. It will happen slowly, but you will definatley see some results. Cardio is very good, however if you lift weights you'll burn a lot more calories, and you'll see the weight drop off more quickly. Also watch what you eat. consult your physician first do a search online there are many sites for this and also joining a gym would be beneficial. Cardio would be a good part of it, but at some point you want to add strength training. You need to build muscle, and muscle burns fat. drop and give me twenty boy! yeah cardio is the best for losing weight just do like 30 mins every day on your bike then gradually increase it, remember if you feel faint or have chest pains while doing it just take a break good luck. You should do weights, IMHO. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so you'll get a higher metabolism if you put on muscle. And more importantly, eat right! Stay away from all sugars and from cooked, processed fats. Eat lots of fresh, organic veggies, some fruit, and some meat (grass-fed is best). Stay away from restaurants. |
