Ok. I need to try to NOT gain more weight for the next 10 wks. HOW?? |
30 wks pregnant, 40 lbs heavier than normal, how can I do this sensibly? I don't want to starve myself or anything, and I have a bad hip, so my stationary bike is going to be my source of cardio. I know I am supposed to consume 300 extra calories but 300 more than what? I never paid attention before; I was always at the low end of normal weight. So now that I've gained about 15 lbs more than reccomended and my behind is suffering (as well as my self esteem). Please offer some sound advice to try and mantain my weight where it is...and how... I wouldn't worry about your 300 extra calories isnce you don't know what your were consuming before. I would just focus on eating 5-6 small healthy meals throughout the day, and gt in 30-60 minutes of cardio 5 days a week (depending on what you do now, start small and work your way up for the next couple weeks) This will also help for after you have the baby to get back to your normal weight in a healthy way. Really focus on eaht your eating, make sure you eat lots of fruits an veggies, grilled or boiled chicken & fish, a good source of calcium (milks and yogurt) and try to steer clear of all chips, cookies, candy, ice cream, and other munchies like that. Best of luck to you *HUGS* Toni Lynne Also, don't become discouraged, with a little effort you can be at a good healthy weight in no time :) CONGRATS on being pregnant, my husband and I have been trying for months so I am soo happy for you! Source(s): My nutritionist girlfriend, have fun w/ your pregnancy. don't worry about your weight gain. as long as you are eating healthy don't fret. i gained 60lbs w/ my pregnancy and it came off with a lil work. also make sure you are drinking plenty of water! I wish you a quick, pain-free labor and a beautiful healthy baby! I can't tell you how to not gain any weight, but I can tell you that i feel your pain-I gained a LOT when pregnant. I have also lost all the baby weight from 2 kids, plus 10 lbs, so chin up-you'll lose it. I know this doesnt make you feel any better now :( I would say that you should just eat when you're hungry and make smart eating choices. Take it easy on fats, pay attention to portion sizes and eat small amounts often-I eat about 300 calories every three hours. Since you're pregnant, I would think you need at least 2000 calories a day, so try eating a 400 calorie snack/meal five times a day...make sure to load up on fruits/veggies, and fiberous foods! Good luck, and don't stress too much...you're going to lose 10-20 lbs immediately at birth!! Your caloric intake depends upon height, weight and age... the average is about 2000 calories to maintain ones weight, so I would say you would either have to have a bit less than that and/or increase your exercise. It really is pretty simple, taking in more calories than you burn off creates weight gain. sorry But i think you cant stop gaining weight , because the babys gaining growing and you have to keep getting bigger for it to have more space. Take heinz apple cider vinegar for its 93 vitamins and minerals. Just 2 tbls in a glass of water 3-4 x day. You and baby will feel so good. Its also good for after preganancy to keep you energized. No hair loss or elevated mood swings. You will not be as hungry as normal, but you will know that the baby is doing fine. I did yoga before my child was born. With yoga you learn to relax by doing deep breathing exercises. You have to hold the breath doing the stretches. It really works. Good luck to you and your family. |
