Can someone explain 'spinning" for exercise? |
I have a stationary bike, is this the correct equipment needed for spinning? usually spinning bikes are more advanced...they have more controls over the tension in the pedals and are built pretty sturdy because they take lots of use. they usually stand on them, and ride them really fast or climb (ride with lots of tension).....definitely a workout. Yes it is. Spinning is just a "cool" word for cycling on an excercise bike. Spinning is basically a series of intervals on an exercise bike. It can be as simple as pedaling fast for two minutes and slow for ten minutes. In more advanced training centers, the bikes are set up to a big screen television which puts riders on high tech courses with uphills. The bike becomes more difficult to pedal as you approach steep inclines. At home, you can design your own "spinning" plan. You may want to pedal hard for 5 minutes, pedal slow for 2 (rest period), and then repeat. Do this series for 30-45 minutes. The idea is to condition your body little by little. As your body adapts to the training, you can increase the length of time you are able to pedal fast. read tips on exercise programs to help you more on this site this will help you-free useful tips & articles on almost any topic- http://free-articles.50webs.com... I think spinning means going fast with low resistance. Like pedalling a bike in low gear instead of high resistance. High resistance is for bulk and strength. Spinning wasts energy, burns calories and makes sleek muscles. |
