I lost a lot of weight, fat and muscle. How do get the muscle back without gaining a lot of weight back? |
I started a whole new weight loss plan a couple of months ago. I quit smoking, drinking beer, drinking sodas, eating bad food and eating a lot healthier. I started going to the gym all the time. I started at around 262, now I'm at 224. When I was at the gym my only concern was doing cardio. I wanted to drop weight fast. Since then, I have noticed that I have lost muscle mass. When I would go to the gym, I would just jump on a stationary bike and ride away. After a while I switched to a cross trainer. I would ride for 30 minutes and at every 5 minutes I would go hard for 1 minute.I have lost a lot of the weight I wanted to, but now i want to start to shape myself into a tone lean body and still lose more weight. I don't want to start to gain weight back by building a lot of muscle. My new workout session is going to be: start strength training first and then do cardio. How much strength training do I do in once session without going overboard and making my muscles bigger than I want. Try lifting weights... read tips on eating healthier and more on great exercise programs to keep you in shape on this site Useful tips on almost any topic - http://www.free-tip.blogspot.com... exercises or run it helps you can muscle lift light weights with high repitiions. This will slim and tone the muscle. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. So you will gain weight, but you will be slim and trim. Swimming is a great exercise. It works pretty much all the muscles to an extent, and it is great cardio. God bless! cardio two days a week and strength strain for three, unless your priority is gaining muscle, then flip it. If that doesn't work, try steroids lol just kidding~ don't do that. But seriously, actually building muscle will help you lose weight faster, speeds up your metabolism, so if i were you I would concentrate on the strength training (weights), just add in cardio a couple days a week too. |
