Is this a good workout for a beginner?

I have been going to the gymfor one week only so far, and I'm still trying to get used to it. I go 5 times a week, today I did the elliptical for 25 mins and stationary bike for 40 mins. I plan on spending more time there as I go alond but for now what do you think, is this good enough to burn calories off?

Sounds good, but work in some weight training to build muscle while you lose fat
keep up the good work!
yes
yup start of slow then while your body gets use to what you doing then u could do more stuff for a longer time, but you are starting off good
5 times is goood for anyone who is starting a diet. If you wanna lose more cals, workout longer(stay hydrated!) and see a diet physician if thats your opinion. Hope this helps, your answerer.
I think its good enough for now. Just don't start doing the harder exercises until you've mastered the ones you are doing now.
It all depends Dean, on the shape you are currently in. I was a personal trainer for several years. Prior to that I was a dancer. If you feel good and are not sore; then continue your regiment. If you are sore; more than just a little discomfort, you should cut back. I am guessing someone at the gym is guiding you in your workout? I surely hope so. Please be careful and take it easy. I hope you enjoy your gym and gain the result you are looking for quickly. Best of luck. nana
