Pregnant gym-goers?



If you could buy any one piece of equipment you used at your gym while pregnant, what would it be? I can walk outside and I have a stationary bike and neither really do it for me. I'm curious to know what other equipment you've enjoyed working out on while pregnant.

The Ball is a safe, effective piece of equipment to use while pregnant. Yoga was great too, but watch lying on your back after 16 weeks.
The Tubes or Bands also work the upper and lower body.
The step is awesome but of course there's bigger risk of injury, so I wouldn't start stepping for the first time while pregnant.

I have 6 kids, I've worked out through some and done nothing through some. I've had 4 natural births and 2 Epidorals. 2 Things I can assure you are true:
Working out through your pregnancy DOES make Labor & Delivery & Recovery A LOT easier.
Even if you plan on a natural birth, sign the Epidoral forms anyway. You DO NOT want to be signing forms in the middle of full blown labor at 2:30 in the morning.

I did yoga. You can position yourself around the baby, and you only exert yourself to your own limits.
I have a Gazelle, and I think it's great. You can set it up in front of the TV and do it while you watch a movie, or your favorite TV show. It's zero impact, so it's not hard on your joints.

I know you're were looking for something to do at home, but swimming is also excellent exercise for pregnant women. It's zero impact as well, and you float in the water. It's a wonderful feeling, when you're used to carrying you and a baby all day.
