Weight fitness question.? |
At the moment I weigh around 213 LBS, 6'2 male. I am sick of being fat and over the past two weeks I have been working out. For some reason I still have a hard time doing more than 20 push ups and 30 crunches. I have also been doing cardio, with a stationary bike. The other day I peddled for 30 min and today I peddled for 45. How often do you recommend I do cardio? Also how long until I start seeing results. I have also quit eating fryed food and drinking pop. everything you've done so far is great, make sure you are drinking lots of water, and remember your body has been in a sort of rut for a while it may take some time for it to understand what your doing. if you are actively trying for weight loss, cardio should be done at least 30 min. a day. and as far as crunches and push ups, just try to do a few more each time, like 20 today-then 25 tomorrow, again your muscles are not used to doing that motion . i have been really trying since feb.-march, going to the gym with my husband about 5-6 times a week, cardio 35-45 min with weight lifting and i've lost 11 lbs and two pants sizes, its usually easier for guys so dont get discouraged. and always mix it up; walking, running, cycling, it will keep your body from plateau-ing. if you dont have a gym membership, look into it. its a good investment if you find a good deal. they usually have promotions around holidays and some weekends , avoid start-up fees and monthly dues should not be over $25-$35, and most gyms require a 3-year commitment contract so thats a question to ask. sorry i kind of rambled, i hope any of it helps, good luck. --c do 45 mins of cardio, then another 45 mins of wieight training and eat freash fruits and veggis. Should see reults in two weeks. trust me i am a personal trainer You problem isn't very dangerous what you want is to be ambitious to reach your goal and listen to this advice : 1)go to the doctor to know what make you fat. 2)play any type of sport. and don't make your fitness the drawback in your life make your self cool and don't mention that Try a vegetarian diet. Do you know any fat vegetarians? I don't think they exist. You are getting plenty of exercise and that seems to be of no help so you may have to resort to a vegetarian diet if you are really desperate. Also try an Internet search for vegetarian + weight + reduce (OR lose OR overweight). Health articles. The personal trainer is on the right track, but don't expect to reach your goals within 2 weeks. A more safe goal would be to drop 2 to 3 pounds per week. Any more would put your body in great discomfort and force it into a "starvation mode" in which it tries to hold onto your fat because of the extreme changes. Also start exercising 3 to 5 times a week, with a 10 mintue warmup and 20 minutes of high intensity cardio, adding more time as your endurance builds. It would be safe to implement a strength training plan, lifting, squatting, etc. 3 times each week. Higher weight, lower repitition will build muscle quicker, further contributing to calorie burning outside the gym. Good luck! And remember, it takes time... Exercise Physiologist The first and best way to burn fat is to modify your current diet. There are three simple ways you can begin to modify: reduce calories, reduce sodium, and reduce fat. For example, by substituting a glass of water for a carbonated beverage, you can cut approximately 150 calories or more, depending on how much is consumed. Even if it were fruit juice instead of water, you would still reduce calories by approximately 50 - 100.. what causes these unwanted gains in weight and bodyfat? There are three possible reasons this can happen: (1) Eat late at night (2) Exceed your normal caloric intake (3) Lack of exercise or physical activity. best way to speed up the metabolism is by increasing meal frequency. Instead of eating 2 - 3 meals per day, try eating 4 - 5 small meals per day, or 3 meals and 2 healthy snack meals. http://www.medifastdetox.blogspot.com... |
