Hi, I'm a cross-county/track runner in high school and I have recently received an injury around my ankle. I don't recall ever hurting it, but I guess bad things just happened. Now my main concern is training to maintain endurance and keep myself in shape. I CANNOT RUN!! I've tried but I think we all know that's NOT going to make my situation any better. I've tried riding a stationary bike, however, I become soo bored with it that I must will myself to go, and even then I can barely make it through 10 minutes without wanting to get up and go somewhere else. Can anyone tell me of an excerise that will help me stay in shape? I've heard that swimming is good, but I don't have that kind of time. I just want an efficent, not nesessarily quick, and difficult workout that will build and tone my legs. AND can anyone tell me why I'm so prone to injury? How can I prevent it and heal fast?
isnt it amazing once you run out side you cant stand to be in a gym,, me too... i would say the bike is best for leg muscle endurance and over all cardio but i totally under stand the bordom..rip your hair out..i like to use the pilates ball at home if im injured keeps the muscles toned and swimming (if your can spare the time twice a week) anti inflammitories help,, Advil etc.bag of frozen peas..and time.. |
