Looking for a helmet lock that holds helmet stationary? |
No helmet law for CT but there is for surrounding states. Anyway I've seen a few people riding around with their helmet firmly attached to the side/rear of their bike. They were going a little to fast for me to get a good look at what the fixture was though. All the helmet locks I've seen attach with either a cable, or to the D-ring. A helmet would flop around while trying to ride with either of those; they are just for attaching your helmet while not riding. So I'm looking for some sort of apparatus that will hold a helmet perfectly still while riding, and obviously not get in the way of operating the bike. try Custom Crome or JandP cycles I think I've seen what you want in their catalogs The people you see riding with them are using the lock you describe. Those helmet locks aren't meant for use while riding. Just get a cargo net with the hooks on the end and strap it to your back seat or fender. A bungee net will hold a helmet still on the rear seat. Locking it is another story http://www.powersportrider.com/cgi-bin/z... Pick - Street Catalog Go to - Index - Bungee Net Gotta laugh at the thumbs down for honest answers. The factory lock is used a lot, but as you noticed, lets the helmet swing, destroying shields. A net as described works well, and is used by many. Myself, I just run the strap around the seat rail and pull it tight. I'm surrounded as well. Live Free Or Die. The best place for a helmet while riding is on the head, it doesn't flop around and destroy anything. |
