Theres so many sites to help with diet and excersise progress, how do i find a simple, good one?



I have been gaining weight like crazy! So, i took the plunge.i started this weekend with limiting my portions ( eating dinner on a salad plate, instead of 12 oz ribeyes with sides!), i went shopping, and carefully shoped for the lowest calorie stuff on the stuff i normally use ( creamer, low cal snack bars,salad dressing,etc)i got lotsa salad fixins, and stuff. i am gonna try not to snack, even on the low cal stuff so my stomache can shrink a bit.
Yesterday i started my excersises. 15 min each on the stationary bike, and treadmill. Both on pretty low settings. My legs hurt like hell.
Ok, so this is the first time i have ever dieted OR excersised! At 43 years old.
So, i am hoping to find a way to progress this online. Maybe even sme support. Any suggestions of sites? Particularly ones that arent trying to sell me something?

They can help you with a weekly meal plan, exercise plan, goal setting, food journal, exercise journal, and weight loss tracking. There's also lots of good articles, recipes, and a support forum.
Limit carbs to the AM/Lunch. Increase protein intake. Stay away from bread and white rice (eat brown rice). Do cardio early in the morning before eating (burns more fat). Lift weights. Cut out sugar and fried foods all together. Have a day a week where you can eat and drink whatever you want. The end.
I am in a similar situation. I've gained 80 in two yrs due to thyroid problems and I hate my body. Now that my thyroid is on a normal level, I am serious about losing it. I've looked on the web and took a little from everything I found. No one site was perfect for me, so I went with the basics. Eat breakfast. I eat only to satisfy my hunger, not stuff myself. Smaller meals more frequent. Exercise with high intensity where your able to shock your metabolism. For ex: you can go on a treadmill for a half hour and do a 5 min warm-up, 20 mins high and low level for 1 min each, than a 5 min cool down. By going up and down levels for that 20 mins, your stimulating your body with an intensity you could build up as you do more exercise. You will have to push yourself to a sweat. I also do some stretches so I do not injure myself. It will take time to lose the weight but it is worth it. Your health is worth it!!! Good Luck.
