Is there a good cardio-vascular activity that can be done at home?



without the need for expensive gear like running machines or stationary bikes?

It's going to sound funny but dance. Get your favorite dance tunes and just go at it. Keep track of how long your play list is. I advise 4 or 5 songs at first and just keep adding as you get more comfortable.
running up and down your stairs

doing stepups on to a step and back down again
dancing, tae-bo, jump rope.

Jump ropes!!!!
Get a skipping rope - wonderful on the spot exercise!
Or course. Push up are good also. You are the machine. If you rent a machine; you've still got to do the work. So, save all that money and do it yourself.
Once you get started, you will love to do it.
if you have stairs, that's always a good cardio workout. You can also dance, do jumping jacks, or run in place.
