10-15 pound weight loss? please, just need some advice?!?

i like to walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes and then run for about 20 minutes, i do this twice a day. i incorporate some weight training every other day and i do ab exercises. i have been working out for the past month and see a difference but i want to know if i am going about doing this the right way? will i lose or better yet, CAN I lose 10-15 pounds before october 10th? even if it's just 10 pounds, i'll be happy!

but, the thing is running hurts the bottom of my feet and my shins. i don't like to do the stationary bike because i don't feel it does as much for me as the treadmill and the stair-stepper thing is mainly my legs?

(i need to tone my thighs, stomach, love handles to be specific)

any answers will be a BIG help and feel free to e-mail me as well, i really need the support thank you so much!

yes i have tons of veggies, lean meats, fruits! my diet is probably the only thing holding me back! i mean i eat healthy for the most part! i just eat late at night but i am going to quit doing that, i can't do that to myself anymore not to mention how horrible i feel afterwards! and there is NO fun in that. i usually eat like an egg for breakfast or a bowl of cereal with soy milk, i like cliff bars, are they bad? i didn't think so but i won't eat them if they are. i love salads, brown rice, and chicken. i have tons of frozen veggies because fresh is more expensive and i can't afford to buy it. i like tuna in the can haha.

anything else you guys can think of eating wise? i kinda need to stock up on some more groceries!

Yes, that seems to be a very logical and doable goal by 10 October. The key that you need to keep in mind is to burn more calories than you are eating each day. If you know you are to consume 1500 per/day then you should be burning more than 1500 so that you tap into your "stored" fat reserves. Remember to eat well with plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, LEAN meat and proper portion sizes.

A great website that I use is www.livestrong.com. Check it out and see what you think. It's great for helping you calculate your calorie intake and wonderful at revealing what you consume in the Daily Plate section.

Best of luck to you,
sandy

You probably will lose 10 to 15 pounds by October, your exercising great but you have to do more than exercising, you have to watch what you eat. Eat tons of fruits and veggies! Make sure you get your lean meats too. If your ever hungry, go to the fruits and veggies, NOT the sugary fatty food and you should be fine. Hope this helps

we'll i use to run too but i would notice i was gaining instead of losing when i would run ha ha. anyways what really helped me out was the 3 day diet it worked on me i lost up to 30 pounds in 2 months so try it. just google 3 day diet and click on the first one u see. hope i helped

that goal is very possible, I'm sure you'll do it!

Have you ever tried an eliptical trainer? I love them. Here's a link: http://exercise.about.com/cs/exercisegea...

First of all, your workout is fine. If your shins and feet hurt, it's from the pounding, so you might want to change your jogging to power walking until your legs are more acclimated. You can power walk at an intensity that leaves you sweating, huffing and puffing. You might try an incline as well to amp it up. I'd stop the pounding for now. Once your shins get really bad, it will be painful to even walk.

Add the exercise bike back in. It's less stress on your legs and really good for your upper legs and butt. The web page below can explain that better than I can. Look under "Exercise Plan" and go to "exercise bike for weight loss."

Add front and side lunges to help your thighs. Sit ups and stretches for your stomach and love handles.

For long term dieting I'd check out the "Eat Healthy" section of the site below. That is how we should all be eating. To lose 10-15 pounds fast, I'd do the 5-4-3-2-1 diet plan. (That's the page below.) Follow it exactly. You get to choose the food but make it healthy so that your metabolism stays strong. Drink plenty of water--give up sodas (even diet) or other sweet drinks and alcohol until Oct. 10. After that, save them for special occasions.Cut out as much salt as you can from your diet. Don't add any and don't eat overly salty foods.

If you do these things, you can easily lose 10-15 pounds by Oct. 10. Good luck!

The amount of exercise you are doing should be sufficient to loose that amount of weight by the date, but bear in mind that as you do some weight bearing exercises this means the muscle you increase will be heavier than fat you decrease, so weight loss can be deceiving.
But you will look more toned which looks much better by incorporating the weight bearing exercise this will help to increase your metabolic rate to loose weight quicker. When exercising try to get your heart rate up so it becomes hard work to sustain the exercise when you do your aerobic workouts. If you belong to a sports center there are some great classes you can join that will burn fat quickly it also gives a bit of variety too. These classes will help with the toning you want.
Don't forget your diet too you don't have to cut out everything just cut down a little work out your calorie intake that you need and work out what you have actually taken in.
If you are having trouble with your feet it may be the shoes invest in a good pair of running shoes. The Stationary bike can be a really good fat burner try doing some interval training with some really intensive bursts say 1 minute high intensity and 3 minute low intensity and repeat several times for up to 30 minutes but start slowly this is hard work but a great fat burner. And sometimes exercising with a friend is good to keep you motivated. I hope this helps martin

As I understand it, the key is to eat healthy, maintain your portion size, drink lots of water and exercise well. No point in starving or eating less.

I weigh within my recommended weight. I go for brisk walking for 20 mnts everyday. I can't run nor can I go to the gym as it hurts a lot, tires me and aggravates my sinus. Walker is good for burning calories. My friend does her 10 mnts on treadmill and 10 mnts on walker/stepper. But in spite of doing it for 2 months she hasn't lost much. I think it is because she has no control over sweet and animal fat.
