Help Im sick!?

I have a cold =( I'm 99% sure I caght it from my Mum's boyfriend. We were driving to subway last night, and he had the fly and kept coughing, so yeah. I have a REALLY sore throat, a blocked/runny nose, and I have been doing everything I can to make it go away
-Taken panadol
-Drinken 3 L of water
-Lots of fruit and vegetables
-Took a hot bath
I don't really have a question...I just wanted someone to talk too...lol. No umm, is it ok for me to do like 10 minutes of excercise on a stationary bike even though I have a cold?
And, can someone make my self-steem higher, Im really down lol.

Whereever you got the cold from, it looks like you're doing the right stuff. Exercise won't hurt as long as you get plenty of rest afterwards. Your body needs energy to fight infection, but exercise is great for making you feel better emotionally. You sound like a really nice person. Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon :)

Trip to the Doc would be good idea in case it's more than a cold. In the meantime, put chest rub on your feet after a hot bath (with 3-4 drops pure eucalyptus oil in it) then put thick socks on, take panadol and go straight to bed. A drink of 1 heaped teaspoon honey and juice of half a lemon in hot water with your panadol may sooth your throat and ease the cough. Sip it slowly. Hope you feel better soon :)

The term "cold" has two possibilities: Allergy or being Sick (due to virus attack such as Flu). Since you don't have headache and muscle ache, I think you only have allergy. Nasal congestion tend to cause sore throat while you are asleep. Find out what the cause of your allergy and avoid it; in other words, you are not sick.

Yeah flu, no don't exercise its going ta cause a world of pain tomorrow, stiff and painful muscles and joints. Go to bed early and let your body combat the virus.

Over eating can be an increased stressor as well, so drink plenty, keep warm but eat less. Avoid stimulation like TV and other media. Panadol as recommended on the packet.

You are a cool EllaD LOL ;-)

sometimes we just have to ride it out.
Getting sick often makes people feel bad too.
If you often do excercise to keep your spirits up, this is not a good time to be doing that. Let yourself have those down feelings it part of the human experience too you know.
Enjoy being miserable. You sound like it's not usual for you so just notice it and relax into it and get well soon.
I reckon lots a rest is called for and sleep.(dreams maybe too)
janet

You couldn't possibly get a cold overnight...atleast it wasn't from your mom's bf. It has an incubation period of 3-4 days you know. You got it from someone else. Anyway, keep drinking lots of water and fruit juice. Take zinc...it will help shorten the length of your suffering. Take a rest...postpone the exercise.

no question!hhhmmmm! ok, have a chat then. Yes do the exercise even with cold, sweat it back out of you.
Why be down, just coz you have a cold, or is that you anyway.
You shouldn't feel down, keep doing your exercise and i'm sure your self esteem will pick up.

best thing right now is to get some rest.
from your language I gather you are not American so I don't know if where you are the sell Zicam(zinc preparation). if they do get it use it it works. I use the nasal form you swab your nose with it and cold gone.

The best way is to see a doctor,but if u don't u can drink much water and trust yourself that u will be better soon.

Everybody loves you!Take care feel better soon!

I love you!

:)

Maybe you need to meet Doctor to have antibiotic

Yes why not?!

You'll be fine soon..... take care :)

you must see a doctor pleas.

Get on your bike and just do as you usually do, don't let it make you feel down...

-go to your chemist and ask for Codral night and day flu tablets;

-stay as warm as possible: always wear a scarf, when you get home get cosy and turn the heaters on;

-also drink lots of tea and if you like you can add a little lemon and honey, they both help (honey soothes and lemon has vitamin C);

-and if you're really despearte take some vitamin C supplements: your cold won't want to stay around...

Lift your chin up and stay positive, your cold will be gone in no time! I hope you feel much much better soon =) xx
