How can I firm up stomach after moderate weightloss?

I'm 16, 6'0", and recently I started watching what I ate and exercising a lot. From February to July I went from just over 190 to 145. I'm fairly certain I've stopped losing, as I'm very slim now and at a good BMI for my height.

However, although I continue to exercise at least thirty minutes a day at high intensity, I have a small amount of flab at the base of my stomach. At the top, you can see the formation of a two-pack, and it's clear where my abs lay underneath a layer of skin. However, the skin isn't tight. Like, if I make a push-up position, I can see a very small amount of skin (not fat) hanging at the base of my stomach.

I obviously don't need to lose anymore weight, as my ribs are slightly visible (not in an emaciated-looking way) and I have a good BMI. Last week I started doing leg-lifts, sit-ups, and push-ups in addition to the thirty-plus minutes of stationary bike I already do. Any suggestions to speed up the firming up process?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Again, I want to stress that it's not a lot of skin (i.e. it's not hanging off of me unless I make a bridge with my butt in the air. And even then, not a lot hangs).

No surgery needed. It's just not TIGHT.

i dont really know, but i have the same problem, i workout twice a day and so i lost about 20 pounds in the last year, but my stomache is still kind of soft, and it is really annoying

Lift weights in circuit fashion to get a cardio workout plus stimulate you lean body tissue and speed up your metabolism. The muscle plus less fat will give you a toned look. Here are some free video workouts.

First off, congrats on the weight loss. Unfortunately, it will take some more time for your skin to adjust back to being taut. keep up the good work and you will be fine.

well if you eat soy it gives your skin elasticity so eat so and then start doing thing to tone you up instead of cardio.... try ballet you might actually enjoy working out that way and a great way to tone up

Do as much crunches and sit ups as possible

First, I do want to tell you to get off of the BMI concept. It was developed in the 1800s by a statistician and was never, ever intended to measure someone's health.

I have two questions:

1. Are you doing the SAME high intensity exercise daily? If so, you are not challenging your muscles enough to properly respond like you want.

2. Are you working out your abdominal muscles completely? So many people are hung up on crunches and some situps, when really there are many dozens of ways to workout your muscles. You must challenge them!

Because you have reached what you feel is a comfortable weight for you (congrats, by the way), you should turn your focus to fitness goals. Setting goals like "I want to see my bottom abs" are great, but set others, like lifting goals, distance goals, timed run goals, etc.. This will allow you to continue to push your body and keep you facing forward to the next new goal...and away from your stomach so much. Setting fitness goals is always good because you can always raise the bar (you can't just lose MORE weight and MORE weight), and in doing so, your body becomes fitter, tighter, and performs better.

Basically, change up your regimen, watch your diet to encourage clean eats and muscle growth, and set goals that revolve around fitness-based accomplishments. Do this and your body will come :)
