What are some good training exercises for cross country?


hi i was wondering what are some good Cross Country Exercises. for me its 4 weeks away (1 month) until our first practiced, I've felt that i have been slackin because of vacation which isn't good. and i want to get my *** in gear and do the best i can in 4 weeks. i usually ran 2-3 miles or for like 30 minutes, I've started to run for 3 miles and im moving onto four. is it basically run 3-4 miles a day and do some hill training in between? because thats what i was going to do. i also use a stationary bike to help-(10 minutes 3 miles) which i think helps out my upper legs. I'm also trying to use good nutrition.

any kind of help will be much appreciated.

by the way im 6'2 and 160 pounds (not good either) also sophmore.

looks like your already doing good extrisises for cross country. there isnt very much you can add to what your doing. good job and keep going... one thing you can do is add more speed instead of more distance to your runs most of the time in cross country you wont run more then a 5k wich is 3.1 miles. kick the pase up a little bit and try to lower your time and stay consistent with your distance

Use the bike before running to prevent shin splints. Other than that just keep running, get your mileage up to a little more than you'll be doing for races, hill repeats and interval training will help too.
