Splitting up work-out time?

I'm trying to get fit again after months of slacking. So far I've done 30 minutes on the stationary bike for a week, I then uped it to 60 minutes and lastly I want to get it up to 90 minutes.

My question is, if I don't manage to sit there for 90 minutes is it okay to split the time up throughout the day or is it more effective to do it all in one sitting?
I'm really looking to do what's more effective because I wanna see results before the Summer is over.

honesetly the more u workout the better, but short 30 min intervals will increase fat metabolism and in return burn more fat. however looking at it from a cardiovascular point of view, working out for 90 mins would increase your resting heart rate, and subsequently your calorie burnage. so either works :) haha

I am one of those that ends up working out about 90 minutes a day, and I split mine up. I do in 30 minute increments, and I have lost 34 lbs. in 6 months. I could have lost more than that, but I slack a lot when it comes to eating in my calorie range. So I would say splitting it it up is still very effective.
