Will a stationary bike help me lose weight? |
i am trying to lose 40 lbs . i am a woman and had two babies in one year, and no they are not twins! its been over a year and im ready to lose. Can the stationary bike help? if so, what do i need to do as far as how often and long do i need to excersise.... Your body burns a certain amount of calories each day whether you exercise or not. We each have what is called a Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). This rate gradually decreases with age. To the BMR you add the total calories used during the day due to all exercise and activity, which gives you your Active Metabolic Rate. The longer you ride a stationary bike the more calories you will burn. As long as you " Burn More Than You Consume" you will loose weight. It won't matter how you loose it, it is just the fact some activities are more intense ( causing you to burn more) than others. Yes it will but it needs to have resistance on it . Eat 1300 calories a day, no less, and exercise and you will feel great. Also I was thinking with you haveing babies so close you may need this information.. yes, it can help you loose. yes, a stationary bike is a great workout! make sure you do "hills" where it is harder to pedal. that is a great fat burner. also, if you can find a gym with spin classes...they are AMAZING. and they are fun, so it goes by quickly! |
