How many miles a day should I ride my bike?


I am 15 years old and I believe I am over-weight. You decide

5'6"/170-175 pounds.

yeah, so I want to loose some poundage, and I have a stationary bike.

how many miles a day should I ride it if I wanted to loose say, 10-15 pounds by August and keep it down?

I think it's less about miles than it is about the length of time you're spending on the bike. You should do 30-60 min. of cardio 4-6 times per week. As long as you are challenging yourself during that time, you'll get a great workout in.

You should really be doing some weight-lifting or resistance training if you want to shed those pounds. Cardio is great, but building muscle is the key to burning tons of calories and keeping the weight off. Building muscle will also make your cardio activity more effective. If you don't have access to weights, you can always use your own body for resistance--pushups, situps, lunges, squats, and other calisthenics will do the trick.

you should ride your bike at least 4 miles a day and by the end of the week you will lose 5 pounds i did i weight 167 now im 145
