Is 5 miles enough?

I've been walking 3 miles a day for a lonnnng time. I personally don't think 3 miles is enough exercise. I also spend 25 mins on the stationary bike 3-4 times a week.

My question = Do you think walking 5 miles 7 days a week is enough exercise with a 1,500 calorie diet? I'd appreciate your opinion.

I think that walking five miles is a very good excercise! Keep it up! If you walk five miles seven times a week by the end of the summer (10 weeks) you will have accomplished 350miles! I think this is a great goal!

I once lost 25 pounds at a steady rate of 2 to 3 pounds a week by sticking to a 1500 calorie diet and walking at about 4mph for an hour each day, which of course is 4 miles a day or 28 miles a week. That's a little less than what you're proposing, but it worked really well for me.

Good luck!

yes.
that would keep you in really good shape, and keep your heart healthy.

just remember that as you're intaking a lower calorie amount, you should still get all the nutrients you need in a diet .

hope it helped [:

heyy its really up to u.. u should decide whether its enough... dont overwork urself and try to gradually increase to 5 miles... maybe 3.5 then 4. i run everyday about 2 miles and sometimes i just need a break so dont overwork urself

5 sounds good or you can do 3 mile power walk.
take with you a small 2 or 3 pound weight and walk fast with lots of hand movements.

I think you should add some diversity into your exercise, such as jogging. Other then that, sounds like a good plan on your part.

3 miles is much better than what about 90% of america walks/runs while exercises, so 5 would be good too

Walking helps, but you should run or jog, its much more effective and waste less time.

I think it depends on your current weight and metabolic rate. You might lose too much at 1500 calories.

Yeah, thats really good.

Um yes that is heaps enuff!!!!

yeah it think five is GREAT and youll get result with it!

if u run 5 mile like me then u don't need a diet

yes, just make sure you stay away from all the tranz fats in the food u eat
