Does running and riding a stationary bike have the same effect?


Do they have the same effect? Like if I rode a stationary bike for an hour a day, would I have the same amount of muscle as if I ran an hour a day, and vice versa? or would one be better than the other? Thanks!

running is better than a bike..

in a stationary bike you don't have to deal with the pressures of your own weight and gravity
but in running you have those pressures to deal with
but in the bike you can up the resistance

so in the end both are fine but running is better for burning more calories and fat
and they are both fine for leg muscles

i don't believe so
with running outside
you have friction with you and the ground
so you have to pump
much more
than you would on an stationary bike.
however the effects are ultimately the same

I think running will give you more of an effect. And running is refreshing because you have all the scenery around you ;]

not at all running is better (im a runner)
