Terrified my exercise routine will gain me weight? Help?

For a month, I stuck to 30 mins a day on my stationary bike, but over the last 2-3 weeks, I have been doing either an hour high speed on the bike or 2 hours of brisk walking, as well as a further 40 mins of toning exercises such as crunches, squats, leg swings etc.

But I have gained a Ib and am worried it will just keep on going up.

I eat a healthy diet, less than 1800 calories a day and am 5'10 almost and 126Ibs.

What can I do to ensure I don't gain more muscle weight?

Which exercise might be doing this?

its ok and healthy if u gain muscle w8. The toning excersices are anerobic which makes you gain muscles. Still, don't become severly underweight.

hmm i c that you used to be borderline anorexic-dont worry, i was there 2. I guess thats why ur keeping an exact track of ur weight .Try abstaining from the scale from 4 wks to once a year-well TRY and u wont worry as much. Hope u get better!

As long as you do crunches, squats you are going to gain more muscle weight. But you will be fit and toned. When and if you stop doing this much exercise, muscle will turn to fat. That is why it is better not to overdo. Walking and bike riding is excellent and wont put the weight on you that all the others will. It is best to stay active doing chores such as cleaning house, yardwork. Exercise routines just have to become more and more challenging as your body adapts to the routine because it is not challenged after awhile. Mix up the exercises so that you arent doing the same thing over and over,

You should stop trying to lose weight - you are underweight. You aren't eating nearly enough calories to maintain a healthy body weight. I would suggest gaining some weight and talking to your doctor.

You should be gaining a bit of weight I think you might be under weight.

The weight your gaining is muscle not fat so you don't need to worry about it. Remember muscle weighs more than fat but its better for your body. Also don't pay any attention to the scale it will only make you more self conscious. Its not about how much you weigh its about how you look and feel that counts.

You are way to thin. You should weigh around 150 at least for your height. You need more muscle weight.

maybe you have hit a plateau?

I think if you even gained like 10 more pounds it'd be OK, since you're tall.

maybe the biking stuff is building muscle? instead do some other sort of cardio thingy?

Well most things you need to gain muscle weight. Maybe try yoga! I have a Friend who does that and says it works. 126 isnt bad for your height either. Hope you find something that works!
