HIIT work out?


Im 5'11 and 21 years old. Im currently 190 Lbs. I lift weights properly. I cannot get rid of this gut though, I have had it since a major surgery. I have been reading alot about this HIIT program.

Im looking to drop down to 180-185 range but want to be mostly muscular.

Will hitt help develop/define my muslces and abs (not showing right now as per the massive scar and the little gut. What is the best way to do Hiit? Treadmill or stationary bike?

Ive been eating healthy lately and watch what my intake is, i know this isnt going to be a quick thing. what is the average weight loss for Hiit? and how long does it take for results to show

The beauty of HIIT is that you can do it on any cardio equipment.. Treadmill (or better yet, pound the pavement), stationary bike, elliptical, cross trainer, etc. I love HIIT but I've found that results typically take longer if I don't absolutely give it my all for that 1-2 minutes that I'm supposed to be. If I'm not out of breath, I'm not doing it right.

I can only answer a few of your questions from experience, one minute all out, one minute walking is the standard I have heard and used, but any form would work, 30 sec all out 30 sec walk etc....., I would recommend using the treadmill from the simple fact that i forces you to keep going where as the bike you are the one controlling the speed. Best time to do cardio is in the morning on an empty stomach.
