Losing weight observation.... Help!?


Ok. Here is the scenario. I'm overweight, i weigh about 306 pounds.... Ya thats a lot i know. So here it is. I do weight training 4 days a week, and an hour of high intensity cardio 5 days a week. I don't eat more than 2,000 calories a day... I'm gaining strength slowly in my arms and legs and back, and abs, but not at a quick pace. I'm only losing around 1-2 pounds a week depending on if i snack a few days a week. I've lost 30 pounds already almost. My cardio includes the eliptical machine at a high resistance and i get my heart rate pretty high, then i get on a stationary bike for about 10 minutes and do a HIIT workout. Then i go and jog 2 miles in 20 minutes, ya i know 2 ten minute miles isn't that fast, but keep in mind i'm really overweight... I have 2 questions, What do i need to do to change it up so i stop plateauing, and should i take creatine to increase my muscle gains, and help keep my workouts highly intense??? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!

Creatine will not help with your weight goal. It's more to give a hard look to muscles. Wait until you lose more weight before playing around with it.

The cardio work is good. You will plateau on the weightlifting if you do not change you routine occassionally. I change every 12 weeks. Also, take a week off every 12 weeks from lifting. This does two things:

1. Gives the muscles a complete week to heal.

2. Your muscles will grow in that week, since they can completely repair.

Stay in the 3 set X 8 -12 rep range for weights.
