How much cardio do I need? |
I am 21, 5'9", and weigh 235 pounds. So I'm pretty overweight. I want to try to lose 30 pounds by June. I think it's possible because I've been gaining weight consistently for about 4 years and I haven't been eating very healthy or moving much. Now I am eating very well and going on my stationary bike for 30 minutes 4-5 days a week and doing some lifting on my home gym. If I keep working out like I am, maybe even increasing the cardio to an hour every day, can I reach my goal by june? Any other tips for losing pounds? I don't really agree with you (KP) about the stationary bike thing. That doesn't really make sense that my body will get used to it. As long as my heart rate is in it's target zone it should be fine, whether it's running, walking, riding on the stationary bike, etc. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I should be doing to reach my goal...maybe work out longer or do something else 30 pounds by June with the way you are working out now. It is hard. You need to do cardio with different way. You stay with stationary bike too long, your body will get used with it. You need to run or swim. My suggestion is: Monday: cardio, Tuesday: lifting weight, Wed: cardio, Thursday: lifting weight, Friday: cardio, Sat: lifting weight and Sun: cheating day (eat whatever you like). |
