Im am about to turn 16, and i would like to get a sport bike in the near future how can i convince my parents? |
i have ridden dirt bikes and love the feeling, plus the great mileage of bikes. though my mom is a physical therapist and wants nothing to do with anything that can go fast. my dad had a bike in his twenties and thirties, but says i can not have one while i am in his house, also my mom has witnessed people who have been in serious crashes, and that is another reason why i dont ask her just yet, i also plan on having an explorer to drive in bad weather and other situations, any suggestions? i havent even asked either one of my mom, but i know her answer, and i dont want to get on her bad side about the whole situation w8 till ur 18 and than do wutever u want. Ask if you can get a scooter. If they say yes then get the ninja 250 and tell her its just a scooter that looks like a motorcycle. Look for a Motorcycle Safety Foundation riders course in your area. Take and see if you like street as much as dirt. Convince your dad to go to maybe he would become an ally after. I know that sport bikes are nice but maybe compromising with your parents to get a small cruiser might help them change their mind and then upgrade after you get some experience on the street. Best thing you can do is educate yourself on safety until you are the master of safety on a bike. thats a hard thing to do if they dont support riding. my parents think its cool so its easy. but you'll have to start out on something smaller and let them kno that. then after they are comfortable with that you could upgrade me too. i'm 16 and i want to get a yamaha R1 sportbike when i'm 18. i have a '07 yz125 and have ridden for a long time. i told my parents i wanted to get one and they're like "HELL NO!!!!!!!" if your parents are anything like mine you will never be able to convince them. but you can get your way. first off i have been riding since 1978 and licenced as long for motorcycles. you really should take a motorcycle safety course to learn how to ride safely. start out as has been suggested with a cruiser in the 650cc class. if you have never ridden on the street then a sportbike is a bad choice. i started out on a cl175 honda then a 360 yamaha, next a cb750 honda , a suzuki gt750 triple, a gl1000 gold wing , Same problem dude. Well it is your dads house and kind of looks like he allready gave you the answer. |
