What sports bike could I buy that is affordiable for a 16 -17 year old?

HI I'm 16 born in 1992 January 1 (No lie!), and I live in Ontario. I would like to start saving for my sport bike. I would also like to know if you need a car license first before you can get your bike license.

But what are some things do I have to take in to consideration when looking for a bike used or new?

honda makes a dirt cheap little 125cc crotch rocket for like 3500 bucks. It's called the CBR125R

It varies by the province, for instance in Alberta, a 14 year old can get a bike learners license (unless it's since changed). If you're already 16, you can probably get your full license or your learners, whichever you want to go for.
If you don't drive at all yet though, I'd suggest getting a license to drive a car 1st, so you learn the rules of the road in a cage a little more safely than on 2 wheels, because if you make a new drivers mistake on 2 wheels, you're much more likely it will be a lifelong lesson or else god forbid, your very last lesson.

I don't know how Canada works but in the US you don't need a driver licence to get your motorcycle licence.
I would reccomend getting a Kawasaki Ninja 250 or 500 if you're looking for something a little better. The 250 is a nice bike but won't run away with you, you can get used to it and get a bigger bike when you're ready. I would reccomend getting a used bike, but seriously get it from a dealership, not CraigsList or something because at a dealership you can get a better feel for the bike and over the internet you sometimes have no idea where the bike has been.
Good Luck with your first bike!

she's wrong:

You can't hold a motorcycle license in the US until your 18, and they just add it to your drivers license. I don't know how it goes up there.

Forget that ninja 500 you'll be bored in no time.

save up $3000 (usd) at least and you can get a used 600cc sport bike, but that's a ways down the road for you anyhow.

don't buy from the dealers! they'll rob you blind before you know what happened, It's perfectly fine to buy from craigslist.com, just go check it out first, or better yet, have it checked out before you buy it!

You may also want to check out LIFAN, they make smaller-sized sport bikes and they are very affordable, great for the beginner.
I do not recommend jumping to a 600, you'll get yourself into trouble or kill yourself before you're ready to die.
Check your local DMV on rules and regulations concerning driver's license in your province, as it could be different than down here in the states.
