Which is the better open class dual-sport? Triumph? Benelli? Other make?

I'm replacing my 996, and don't want another 'pure' sports bike. But I do want something that can deliver somewhat of a high performance ride. I love the looks of the Benelli, but the closest dealer is about 400 miles away...that may be an issue. No comments please such as "can't your harley do that for ya?" 'cuz you already know the answer. That's not what i have it for...although the foot boards are scuffed up a little.

The cheapest would be the Kawasaki KLR 650

If money is no option then I would go with the

BMW F800GS or any Dual sport BMW

The off-road ability of both those bikes is limited, if you want a genuine dual-sport, take a look at KTM's Adventure 990 鈥?better than both on- and off-road.
