What would be a suitable sports bike for a beginner? |
Remember I am just about 260lbs and am about 6'0 tall. I would like to know what would be best for me? I was looking into the Kawasaki Ninja's, they seem pretty nice but i looked up specs and read on previous forums that the bike might be too small. Please give suggestions. When you say Ninja please note there are many different kinds. im a new rider, i got my first ever bike (07 R6s) in july, been riding it almost everyday since i got it, no problems. its great for beginners. I'm 5' 11" and weigh about 140lbs. i started with a cbr600rr with VERY little experience, just gotta be extra careful. if you're worried about engine size, a 600cc motor provides more than enough power to lug you around. if you're worried about YOUR size, have you ever sat on a streetbike? sit on it for a little while before you buy it to see if you're comfortable. i wouldn't recommend anything over 600cc for a beginner tho. rode my friends 1000rr once, boy is it a different beast... i dont think the zx10r would be a bad choice. my friend weighs 285 and is 5ft 11in and he did fine. he just rode very carefully and toke his time. a 600cc would be a lil small wouldnt ya think? First off, sport bikes are NOT for beginners. But if you really feel like you want one, I would stay away from Yamaha sport bikes like the r6 or r1. Yamahas have really good bikes, but the rpm range is not ideal for a new rider. I would look at hondas because of their reliability, and for their lower rpm range. Look at the "naked" bikes too. Insurance is cheaper and they are easier to ride than a fully faired sport bike. Honda 919, Yamaha fz1 and the ducati monsters are all good bikes. sport bikes are not for beginners. |

sports bike? like a road bike? check out an '07 specialized allez, they're black. you can prabably find an entry level one for around$650-$700. road bikes are expensive, that's about... ONLY experienced riders need to mess with the R1,GSXR1000, ZX10 or the CBR1000. You being a beginner rider I dont care if you weigh 600lbs these bikes will get you killed. They all have a powerband... I always wore square toed cowboy boots (if I was wearing jeans or something that went with them) or Alpine Stars boots. The alpinestars can be a bit pricey, but if you get some lower end ones, they... anything 750cc and up... honda RC51, 1100cbr, 1000cbrr, VFR suzuki gsxr 750 or 1000 or busa yamaha R7, R1 kawa ninja 7r, 9r, 10r 12r 14r ...you sure can! there arent really rules to what bike u can race, as long as it fits the criteria and has working brakes i suppose. i say if u are comfortable with this bike then get it. ...For you, I would recommend a Ninja 400.
