I want to buy my first sports bike, What kind of Sports bike should i buy?

I am a 19 year old girl, and I dont really know what to look for and what is a good price. Any advice is helpful. The only thing I do know is I want a black bike, with a pink helmet :)... <3

sports bike? like a road bike? check out an '07 specialized allez, they're black. you can prabably find an entry level one for around$650-$700. road bikes are expensive, that's about the minimum $ for any road bike actually worth riding.

if by sports bike you mean mountain bike? look for a '07 specialized rockhopper. the base model comes in black for around $400-$450 or so? that's a good price for a quality entry level mountain bike...

specialized is my favorite company, so my recomendation is quite biased.

a pink helmet shouldn't be hard to find nowadays. expect to pay between $50-$75 for anything worth while.

Go for a bike ride, watch the guys and gals in their bright yellow tops ride by on their bikes, look at the brand they use or ask them if you see them off their bikes. Buy the girl version. That's what I'm gonna do. lol and I'm a girl..... woah..... and my cheapo stupid bike that can't get to a higher gear for me on an uphill climb is the reason for my thighs now. =p Wow... what a sin to want a bike that isn't breaking down on you.... Those bikes are expensive, if you don't want to make a mistake in a purchase, ask the people that work in the sports stores about the right fit for you.
