Does anyone stand behind the GSXR as top sportbike? why?

ive been looking at a bunch of sport bikes i know looks wise it seems to have held its beauty even back to early 2000 or so. but i dont want a bike just cause it looks good, so is the gsxr engineered better than the cbr,r1,ninja etc. what positive history, proven pointsd does it have?

you really can't go wrong with any of the
sport bikes . it all adds up to preference.
that's why i bought a 06 GSX-R1000.

As Jose said today the liter bikes are so close to one another in performance that most mere mortals will never know the difference.

As far as the history of the GSXR is concerned it first debut was in 1985 with the GSXR 750. It was the first of its kind and would forever change motorcycling. It was the first race bike made for the masses and made for the street. It was the lightest thing on two wheels and the other 3 Japanese companies had to play catch up.

IMHO there is no other bike that has the history of the GSXR it has won more races than any other motorcycle and has received top honors year after year.

It is proven both on the street and track and you can buy ton's of aftermarket parts for it.

Although for 2008 it has slipped into second place behind the all new Honda CBR 1000.

It is a solid bike and a good investment.

Back then, mid-late 90's to about 2000, the gixxers where at the top of the heap. At least the 750's, they where not compared to other 750's. They where more commonly compared to 900's and 1000's of the day in power, handling, everything.
Today though, bike are a lot closer together. So the best has become more of a subjective word. Some people like the gixxers, other the ninja, cbr's, and yami r's. So best would be more of what brand you like most or which some mag says. I love my gixxer and would say it is the best
