Suggestions and comments on 50cc Scooters? |
I am looking to purchase a 50cc scooter. I have a friend who purchased a Vespa and loves it. However they run about $3199.00 before tags etc. I've found a Charming 50cc around $800-1000 but the reviews say they are not quick enough for city driving for work, school etc. I want to know first if spending the extra for a Vespa is worth it. Also if you know of any other great 50cc Scooters that have the Vespa look rather than the sports bike look. Any additional information would be great because I have fallen head over heals for these scooters but am a college student not wanting to spend $4000 on a scooter which is supposed to save me money (gas). Any links and answers or opinions would be great! i purchased at 2008 yamaha zuma last sunday for $2500 its worth every penny. Its quick and fast enough to keep up with city traffic. It has really big storage underneath the seat. It gets about 123mpg. usually about 3 bucks to fill up full tank. No endorsement needed. Great looking scooter with tons of modification parts available to make them go even faster! Very reliable and can also be driven off-road. And yes I started riding it to work. Used yamaha zuma's can run between $800.00 to $1,500. You should do a quick search on them to see exactly what I'm talking about : ) you will fall in love with them. if you buy the 50cc scooter, it's not likely you'll need a motorcycle endorsement on your license. but, the Vespa is bigger and street legal so you'll most likely need an endorsement. just look at all the ads on eBay and such and maybe you'll get lucky. if all else fails, visit a motorcycle dealer and ask them what they have. it doesn't hurt or cost a thang to gather info. |
