Whats a good starting sport bike? |
Im 19 havent rid befor and am getting my first bike in july im a small dude like 5'8 135 pounds i was thinking of getting a GSX R 600 but my freind keeps telling me to stop being a pussy and buy my dads 2006 Hayabusa 1300 but it jumps to hard for me coming out of gears and its just fast as **** off the break but what do u think a good bike would be for me.............. ninja500 I would say either a 500cc or 600cc. There is a difference in the styles of the two models though. Most 500cc sport bikes have higher handlebars and lower tails on them. When you pass the 600cc mark, the bikes tend to have real low handlebars on them (most of them are actually clip-ons) and the tail section is higher. This will lean you more forward. I f you have never ridden before I would really advise against the Hayabusa. Yeah good advice from your drain dead friend and buy pops Hayabusa and in a matter of week we will see you at your funeral. Start from a smaller bike. easyer to ride on... the 600 are fast.. i have a R6 . i think it as fast as i wanted to be anyway... your friend is the kind of guy that will end up in the obituaries after a ride home from the bike dealership. He's the kind of person that send motorcycle death statistics through the roof. He's also the kind of person i'd like to punch in the face with hard knuckled gloves to knock some sense into him...or at least knock some teeth OUT. Well, seeing as how you havent ridden before I would say start small, the new ninja 250's are nice. Who cares what your friend thinks about it being a small bike, your going to be the one still alive in a few years. I personally started out on a piece of junk old yamaha 400, now this summer im going to move up to a 600 sport bike. get a suzuki sv650. My first bike was a 2001 Honda CBR F4i and you can find a nice one for about 3500 bucks. Its got a bit of power, is a 600cc, and is a good starter bike. best by far is the Ninja 250cc going up to the 500cc ,or the YSF600 don't go for your dads bike it's to much bike for a beginner and do yourself a favor and take a MSF course in your area you'll be glad you did and after a season or two on the smaller bike then get the GSXR600cc or the R6 |
