Sport bike class. whats in the same class as the Yamaha FZ6?

I sat on a Yamaha FZ6 and I liked the seating positon not to mention the affordability.
The Ninja 650R is in the same class?
What else would be? I dont think Honda has a bike in the class or am I wrong?

The Honda CBR600 isnt in the same class.

also suzuki sv650s or suzuki gsx650f. honda has a cbr600 f4i. you can get a 2006 used cbr600 f4i for around $6k.

650r, 599, bandit....all are about the same as an FZ6, but of them all i'd have the FZ6, and i'm primarily a honda fan.

what i'd buy in order
FZ6
Bandit
650r
599

Honda makes the CBR600RR

CBR600F4I, NOT the CBR600RR that is the comp for the R6.

The FZ6 is a standerd style bike. It's like a sportbike with less of a fairing, a slightly detuned engine, usually gearing is a little different, and a more upright riding position. These are more so commuter bikes than they are performance bikes.

The ninja 650r is a sport bike, so it'll sit you a little more hunched over. In my opinion, the 650r is somewhere between sport and standerd, but i think it's subjective.

Similar bikes to the FZ6 would be the Suzuki GS500F, Kawasaki Versys, Suzuki sv650 to name a few.

If you just like the styling, a step up in performance would be a "streetfighter" or "naked" style (basically a sport bike with no fairing). Examples would be the Triumph Speed triple (and street triple), Kawasaki Z1000 and all Buell bikes.

BTW. you are right about the CBR's and ZZR's. They are NOT in the same class. They're aimed at a whole different market.

Honda do have a CB600 hornet that are in the same class

Just get a CBR600RR and you are beyond that class and will have more fun, too.

F4i is in the same class.
