Sports bike with less than 600cc? |
I'm looking into getting a motorcycle in a few months, but 600cc seems like just a little too much power for me. I'm wondering if there is a sports bike (not dirt bike) that looks nice but has just a little less power to begin with. Kawasaki makes both a 250cc and 500cc sports bikes. Here's the link to the web page for their 250... there are 250cc Depends on what you like. There are lots of 250cc sports bikes. Look at places like honda.com, kawasaki.com, suzuki.com, yamaha.com etc. for specific model information. Also cycletrader.com is a great one to find bikes for sale. 250 ninja or even 500 ninja. its only 100cc's less than a 600, but a 500 ninja is quite a bit slower than a 600. it seems like its built to be a starter bike. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Vira... Well i would not go with a 250cc sport bike just because i think youll be wasting your money. look around at all the 250cc bikes....they all have about 2500-3500 miles on them. thats when you get tired of them. what i would do is get a 500cc bike to start out on. plenty of power but still not enough to get you into to much trouble. Such a small engine like a 250 are just not set up for highway use. you want an all around great bike just go with a 500 to start out with. Suzuki SV650 Most of the major sport bike lines have a 250 model, due to the Japanese licensing rules. These days the 250s have plenty of power, so don't listen to the people that tell you that you need a bigger bike. Ninja500 Very good choice; 600s aren't what I recommend for beginners. In the US market, there are four such 500 cc and under bikes that have a proven track record and are great first bikes. Here's a list in alphabetical order, with links to the manufacturer's page. |
