What is a good beginner bike for a rider that is 6'3"?

don't talk about not getting a powerful bike such as an R6 or GRSR because i already know that i have to start with something that has less than 600cc. what i do know is that i still want something along the sport side. i am already planning on taking classes and buying used, but i don't know anything on models that would be more suitable because of my height

i felt really couped up on the ninja250, so that isn't an option even though its a good beginner bike

There are several good beginner bikes for someone your hight. If cost is an issue I would recommend staying a way from BMW because parts and accessories are expensive and isn't really sporty. But the GS 650 isn't a bad choice.

Ninja 500 and 650 are both good bikes and something you will not out grow soon. The Suzuki SV 650 or GS 500 are good choice.

The Suzuki DRZ 400 is great choice. Honda hawk/hornet is also good. The Yamaha XT 225 is also worth considering. Or the Buel Blast.

Ducati monsters 750 cc and smaller, but parts and accessories can be expensive, too.

I only recommend these bikes if you take the MSF Rider Course FIRST. If you do not take the course get the Ninja 250.

Look at BMWs, the seat height is higher making them better for someone who is tall.

The BMW F800 isn't difficult to handle, actually highly recommended for beginners.

This is going to be tricky for you as there are few bikes built for tall people. My suggestion is that you take a rider's safety course first then go test ride the various sport bikes in which you are interested. Just sitting on one is not going to give you the information that you need on how the controls feel.

this is not an easy question to answer. obviously, one ought to try & test ride as many different "styles" of bike as possible before committing to a puchase.even sitting on different bikes in various showrooms can assist in finding out what type of bike best fits one`s "posture" or comfort range.& from experience, i can say that just because bike"x" goes super fast, is not to say that some other motorcycle won`t do just as well. it boils down to this: what type of rider are you? how confident are you within this type? & finally, how safe do you feel within this type? i`ve been riding for 27 years, on many different bikes,{never a new one}, but there were always bikes that i said i`d never ride. don`t get a bike because it`s cool, get one because it fits you, & you fit it!

BMW has some great choices. German engineered, fastest factory bikes for the autobahn. May I suggest the Flying Brick in the K series. this model eats Harley Davidson's for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner seven days a week and uses less fuel while doing it. large displacement motors use a lot of money to go a very short distance.

great beginner bike i believe is the 'Yamaha XT 125'.

Buell Blast.

You're too tall. Get a Kawasaki KLR 650, 2007 or earlier. Or, get the Honda XR650L.

Suzuki SV650
