Would riding a sports bicycle harm my posture? |
I would like to purchase one of those bicycles which require the rider to bend over. I'm looking to use it for daily transport, riding 8km daily. What bicycle could i use? Pro cyclists seem to have pretty good posture, and they spend 8 hours a day on their bikes - so posture isn't a concern. :-) For commuting only 8km you shouldn't get a racy aggressive frame though. Stick with something comfortable, upright, and you'll be happier in the long run. Also, steel frames are more comfortable than aluminum. Just go to your local bike shop, have them measure you for fit, and test ride bikes until you find the most comfy one for you that fits! Good luck. Well, for office purposes, you should use a non-sports bike or a scooter. no as far as you don't use a non sports bike.for daily regular uses sports bikes would dis postourise your spinal cord.and lead to a problematic BACK .but if use a non sports bike it would rather help you very much given the size needed to you posture yes i like riding a sport bicycle harm my postur A road or sports bike will not hurt you, I use one and bike about 10km for my morning workout. It will not hurt your posture I honestly think it much harder on you to have to pedal a mountain bike, since it is so much heavier than a road bike. One thing I would reccomend is, a gel seat. For a real svelte and comfortable ROAD bike ---get the bike called LOOK KG361 from Jenson USA ( www.jensonusa.com) or check out the bikes at 123bikes.com ( Toll Free 1-877-90222-4537). eNJOY! wouldn't worry about posture, stretching takes care of that. i had rock hard buns when i raced! |
